Treatment Foster Care Program

About the program
From time to time, children enter Ranch Ehrlo whose needs are not best served in a group home. We established the Treatment Foster Care Program (TFC) to address this issue. The program is a unique partnership between Ranch Ehrlo and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services.

The program professionalizes foster care. We seek out qualified foster parents to provide a loving and supportive family environment and provide competitive professional remuneration. Our foster parents assume responsibility for youth in their care as well as ensure that the youth are actively involved with their community.

A key program outcome is family reunification whenever possible. Our professional foster parents help youth and birth families develop and maintain healthy relationships and plan for reunification.

What we are looking for
We are seeking families to become foster parents who will assume responsibilities for the care, treatment, and community engagement of children in their care. Caregivers are provided with training, clinical and consultative support, and respite services, including access to a 24-hour on-call system. Although only one parent is required to be a foster parent, both parents must be willing to undertake training and supervision. Foster parents will assume responsibility for the child’s treatment planning and implementation as well as ensure that they are actively involved with their birth family and the community.
