We believe that everyone should have the right to play. So our mission is a simple one – Ehrlo Sport Venture Program (Sport Venture) works to provide youth and families with control of, and access to, a variety of recreational programs.
What does that mean?
It means we think everyone should be able to decide if, when, and how they want to participate in sports. You shouldn’t have to worry about the cost of league fees or expensive equipment. That’s where we come in.
We want to make it easy for as many families as possible to participate in our programs. We offer free drop-in sports leagues (hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball, and football) and have a library where you can borrow sports equipment, free of charge.
All of our programs are staffed by volunteers from the Regina community.
Manager’s Message from Ehrlo Sport Venture manager, Amanda McConnell
Sport Venture plays an important role in our community. We are a hub in Regina’s North Central community, centrally located with welcoming murals and an open court out back where kids come to shoot hoops or play road hockey. Sport Venture brings people together, whether people come to borrow sports equipment, donate equipment they no longer need or register to participate in our sports and recreation programming. We aim to enhance potential in those we serve through the power of sport and recreation.
Our vision is to bring sport and recreation to everyone in our community. We believe that the high cost of sport – registration fees and equipment costs should not inhibit people from having the opportunity to participate. Sport should be a right not a privilege. Through our programs we help foster a sense of belonging and community, promote physical literacy and the most important part provide an opportunity for fun. Our services and programs are open, but not limited to community groups, at-risk, vulnerable and marginalized children, youth and families in our community #everyoneplays
