Imperial centre relocating, expanding

The expansion and relocation of Ehrlo Early Learning Centre’s Imperial location will result in greater childcare options for Ranch Ehrlo staff and members of the community.
The Ehrlo Early Learning Centre (EELC), operated by Ranch Ehrlo Society, is currently located within Imperial Community School and will relocate in July 2025 upon the demolition of its current space and construction of a new joint-use educational building.
The new building, which will be called tawâw, will replace Imperial and McDermid schools and will share the space with St. Raphael – the replacement for St. Peter and St. Michael Catholic schools.
The EELC space, which will be renamed “tawâw”, will see a significant expansion both to the program and physical space. The centre will increase from 30 to 51 spaces and will become the first EELC program to accommodate infants, providing greater opportunity for parents to secure childcare before 18 months of age.
“I’m happy to say that we’re going to be able to meet the needs of many Ranch employees…and the greater community,” said Karin Duff, director of EELC.
Securing a space for childcare in the Regina-based EELC program is competitive, with many parents placing their unborn children or newborns on waitlists. Despite the 59 per cent increase to the space, there is a high probability all will be filled prior to the relocation.
Along with the program’s growth will come the addition of four staff and a significant increase to the centre’s square footage.
The new space will be constructed as a childcare centre rather than a traditional classroom and will prioritize the needs of its educators and young children. The space will feature a dedicated admin office, staff room, separate room for infants, a private outdoor play yard, and more.
“There are many things that I am looking forward to at the new centre, and it is hard to pick just one,” said Tamsen Tomkinson, EELC operation supervisor.
The tentative move-in date for EELC is July 15th. Staff will work their way through the waitlist and offer available spaces on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, or to place your child(ren) on the waitlist, please contact Tamsen at 306-751-4502.
