Ehrlo Sport Venture is excited to report that Brandt has given a $50,000 donation to the Ehrlo Outdoor Hockey League! Shaun and Gavin Semple, owners of the Regina Pats and the Brandt Group of Companies, presented the cheque on the ice before the 3rd playoff game in Regina.
“We believe that everyone should have the right to play. Thanks to this significant donation from Brandt, even more Regina youth will have the opportunity to play the sport they love,” says Gloria Patrick, Ehrlo Sport Venture program manager.
Like all of Sport Venture’s leagues, the OHL is free of charge and all equipment is provided to the participants. The league is open to youth aged six to 16 and runs at eight rinks throughout the city. This year, the OHL celebrated its 30th season!
Sport Venture has fostered a network of support from the community and is grateful for the partnership with the Regina Pats. Over the years, players from the Pats have helped at our local practices, hosted equipment drives, and invited our players to show their skills on the ice during intermissions at the Pats games. The organization has demonstrated repeatedly its desire to give back to those who need it most – including our OHL players and families.
“Thanks to this extremely generous donation even more kids will benefit from the positive outcomes achieved through participating in sports. Hockey is expensive, and most of our players wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to play. Our program works to remove barriers and enables access for everyone, but we couldn’t do it without the help of community partners like Brandt and the Regina Pats,” Gloria concluded.
The donation is part of the Brandt Thanks A Billion program, which began in 2011, where they have provided $22 million in support to initiatives that have made a real impact on the health and wellbeing of the communities in which we live and work.
A huge thank you to Brandt and the Regina Pats!
