They’re fighting for a cause!
On December 14th, a sanctioned amateur boxing match between Darren Adams and Michael Frombach will benefit three charities in the city of Regina. The winner of the match will receive 60 per cent of 2/3rds of the proceeds, while the runner up will get 40 percent of 2/3rds. The final third will benefit the women’s boxing program at Newline Boxing Academy.
The idea came from Darren, a chartered professional accountant, who was looking for a unique way to celebrate his 40th birthday. His charity of choice is Ehrlo Sport Venture. Frombach will be giving his portion of the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association of Saskatchewan.
As an added incentive, Darren will be matching all donations (up to $1,000) made to Sport Venture at the event. He chose our organization because of the impact we have on local youth.
Both Adams and Frombach are amateurs, having never boxed before. They will meet as the finale, with five bouts before them featuring more seasoned competitors.
