On National Indigenous Peoples Day, Sport Venture planted a garden of hope, where we can honour memories by planting dreams.
The heart gardens were planted in memory of children lost to the residential school system, to honour residential school survivors and their families, and support the legacy of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Reconciliation requires collective work and commitment - much like tending to a garden; both require action, attention, and ongoing learning. The act of planting represents Sport Venture’s commitment to reconciliation.
The residential school system is a tragic piece of our history and one we acknowledge. At Sport Venture, it is our pledge to work in the spirit of respect and reconciliation. We commit to be mindful as we move towards healing and change.
