Sport Venture is excited to be teaming up to offer camps to two groups in Regina this month!

July 23-26th will be our fourth annual camp for New Canadian Youth, in partnership with Regina Open Door Society.

For four days Sport Venture works with different community groups such as Elite Basketball Academy  to help introduce youth from the RODS summer youth programming to different sports that we play in Canada. We have featured sports such as basketball, lacrosse, baseball, cricket, road hockey and rugby, just to name a few.

"This camp is an incredible opportunity for many of the youth to try out a sport that they have little or no experience in, and an opportunity to connect with community groups in case they want to continue on in a particular sport," explained Sport Venture manager Amanda McConnell.

"This is our way of using sport to help ease the transition for many of these young people into a new culture and community. It's four days of fun, laughter, and learning – one of the highlights of Sport Ventures summer programming! Often 40 kids will attend this camp."

For the second year. Sport Venture will be running two four-day camps for families involved in the Ranch's Family Treatment Program.

The day camp is focused on fun and giving families an opportunity to participate in activities together. All of the activities are geared for anyone ages eight and up.

Last season there were relay races, water balloon fights and bubble ball.

"Families and Ranch Ehrlo Staff from both the FTP and Sport Venture had a lot of fun leading and participating in the camp," said Amanda. "It was a great way to let loose, have fun and enjoy our beautiful summer."

FTP camp is scheduled for the afternoons of July 23-26th and Aug 6-9th.
