City of Regina awards ESV $10,000 grant

The City of Regina has awarded Ehrlo Sport Venture (ESV) a $10,000 Community Investment Grants program to support barrier-free sports programming for youth across the city.

The funding comes through the City’s 2026 Sport and Recreation stream, which supports community-focused initiatives aimed at improving well-being and increasing access for underserved populations. These objectives match those of ESV, and the grant will help sustain five free sports leagues that give hundreds of children and youth the opportunity to participate in organized sport and recreation each year.

Manager Gloria Patrick acknowledged the competitive nature of the City’s grant process and said ESV is thankful to be selected as one of the 2026 recipients.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the City’s support and excited to continue building that relationship,” she said Tuesday. “Partnerships like this allow us to keep removing barriers for families and create opportunities for children and youth to be active, build confidence, and simply enjoy being part of a team.”

ESV organizes hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball, and football leagues throughout Regina, with dedicated seasons for each sport. All leagues are offered free of charge, and equipment is provided at no cost to participants, helping eliminate financial barriers that can prevent children from taking part in organized sport.
