OHL players gifted Regina Pats tickets

A group of 400 hundred players and family members from the Ehrlo Sport Venture’s Outdoor Hockey League (OHL) were given the opportunity to experience major junior hockey live at the Brandt Centre.

Thanks to the generosity of former Ranch Ehrlo board member and longtime Sport Venture supporter Carmen Lein, 400 participants attended the Feb. 28 game, where youth cheered on the Regina Pats as they took on the Saskatoon Blades. The group celebrated the huge win over their rivals, with the game ending in a 6-3 victory for the Regina Pats.

“I wanted to do something special for the Outdoor Hockey League, and this was just a small contribution. I hope more people in our city take notice and support the organization too,” said Carmen.

It was an unforgettable experience for the young players and their families as they filled the stands and watched Carmen Lein, Manager Gloria Patrick, and Ranch Ehrlo CEO Natalie Huber take to the ice to recognize the league and drop the puck.

“I hope it was something memorable for the kids,” said Carmen. “You never know how people are feeling or what they’re going through, but when you go to a nice event, you can forget about the hard stuff for a minute and just have fun.”

It’s opportunities like these that celebrate Sport Venture and underline the importance of community support, partnership, and participation.

“The whole community came together that night, and I think everyone in the arena could feel the energy,” said Carmen.

“On behalf of our players and families, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Carmen for his incredible generosity,” said Gloria. “Experiences like this create lasting memories for our players and their families and remind them that they are valued members of our community. We are truly thankful for Carmens kindness and for being instrumental in supporting this opportunity for our league.”

Ehrlo Sport Venture’s OHL provides organized, barrier-free access to hockey for children and youth who may not otherwise be able to participate in traditional minor hockey systems. The league operates with structured teams, regular games, and coaching support, offering participants the same experience found in other community leagues.
