Ehrlo Counselling Services (ECS) is thrilled to welcome new practicum student Ryley Winter to the team.

Ryley is currently attending the University of Regina M.Ed program and has begun completing his counselling practicum under the supervision of Clinical Social Workers, Amanda DeMarsh and Kristie Panchuk.

As a counselling practicum student, Ryley will be primarily learning about putting theory into practice in the counselling setting through observation, co-counselling, and individual counselling.

“My experience so far has been great. From day one, I have felt welcomed and supported by the Ehrlo Counselling team, and the mentorship from my co-supervisors, Amanda and Kristie has been transformative in only a few short weeks. I feel as though I have already grown as a professional in a short amount of time and that this growth trajectory will only continue with time and experience,” said Ryley.

Along with his love for physical activity, family, friends, and his two dogs, Ryley has always been driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of others. As a dedicated helping professional, he has held many different roles within the community, such as mentor, coach, youth care worker, education assistant, teacher, and disability support worker. All of these experiences have formulated his passion and solidified his commitment to pursue a career in counselling.

As a counsellor, Ryley will be able to achieve his goal of making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

“I am grateful for the experiences I have had that led me to this profession and this practicum experience at Ehrlo Counselling,” exclaimed Ryley.

Unsure of what the future may hold, Ryley is focused on having an open mind and allowing the learning that occurs during his practicum to organically point him in the direction of his next journey. Ryley does intend to certify with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) but does not have a future “dream job” in mind.

“I suppose the “dream” for me is having the opportunity to help someone improve their mental well-being and enhance their quality of life on a daily basis,” explained Ryley.

Ehrlo Counselling is happy to be able to support Ryley on his journey to making a difference in the lives of others.
