Who are psychologists, and what do they do?
As discussed on the Canadian Psychological Association website, psychologists study how we think, feel, and behave and then apply that knowledge to help people better understand and explain their behaviours. They also assist people in working on behaviours they may want to change that are affecting their daily lives.
As well as helping people change their behaviour, psychologists also offer support.
Psychologists engage in direct counselling, assessment, teaching, and research that involves individuals, groups, families, as well as larger organizations.
Natashia Schoenroth, director of Ehrlo Counselling, remarked that Ranch Ehrlo has psychologists working all over our agency including Ehrlo Counselling Services. There is a clinical assessment and resource team of psychologists as well as psychologists working in the Group Living Programs.
They are an integral part of the collaborative team at Ranch Ehrlo.
Further, she noted, “The entire clinical team at Ehrlo Counselling, including psychologists, works to promote the development of healthy behaviours and improve the quality of life for the individuals and families that we have the privilege of serving in our community.”
