The third annual Sunset Country Music Festival (SCMF) promises to be a night of unforgettable memories in support of a great cause.

Co-organizer and performer Josh Stumpf is the son of long-time Ranch Ehrlo employee Rachelle Lavoie-Stumpf and a strong supporter of local causes.

Last year, Josh and co-organizer Mercy Glover, donated $6,185 in proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan, benefitting families in need. Proceeds from this year’s SCMF will go toward the purchase of musical instruments and lesson booklets for Ranch Ehrlo programs in Prince Albert.

“Prince Albert is home and has always been good to us, so this festival is our small way of paying things forward to our community,” said Mercy. “Not only that but it’s also really nice to see an event that brings the community together.”

The SCMF is stocked with incredible talent, its lineup featuring Josh Stumpf and the Boys Downtown, Mercy Glover, Aiden Edwards & East Side of Second, Morgan Desjardins, and Brett Down.

Josh Stumpf climbed the charts and made a name for himself with his 2023 release “Drink Me a Lullaby”, which landed in the number one slot on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown. His self-titled debut EP was released in June and hit Canada’s billboard “Most Active Indies” with his song entitled “That Song in this Truck”.

“For those who have never been to SCMF it truly is a blast,” said Mercy. “We have food trucks coming out, beer gardens, fireworks, a pit for those who love to dance, and an incredible lineup with music for everyone. It’s the perfect way to spend a Friday summer night!”

The Sunset Music Festival will be held Friday, August 9th in MacDowall, Saskatchewan. Gates open at 6 p.m., with entertainment at 7 p.m.
