Family and family togetherness is a core value of the Family Treatment Program (FTP). We understand that families need support in their journeys. No matter where you have been, where you are right now and where you desire to go, we believe in supporting families in finding hope, strength, and love along the way. All families have made the brave commitment to make the necessary changes to become stronger.
Where will you live?
Each family in our program has their own home, with their own keys. You should expect to see staff multiple times a day in your home or in the community. Alongside this, staff are available 24/7 for on-call support. We want to be here for you when you need it.
What do you do in treatment?
There will be a treatment plan developed by your family and the staff. It can be changed if needed to meet the hopes and goals of your family.
You will participate in many structured activities such as group and individual therapy, but there will also be plenty of time for your own activities and to be alone with your family. We will work alongside your family and community resources to meet the specific needs of your family. Engaging in cultural activities, recreation, therapeutic interventions, and programming to support family healing will be key pieces in your FTP journey.
Some of our group sessions:
Healing does not happen in isolation. Connection is key. As a result we believe in bringing families together for learning. The FTP has many different groups offered at various times during the year. These groups are focused on recovery from addictions and trauma, parenting, equine therapy, music therapy, grief and loss, healthy relationship, and bonding and attachment. While you are in programming childcare is provided.
How do I get into the program as a parent?
This is a fee for service program. Most families are referred by a child protection agency or a health authority. However, there are other options available. Many times, families have their social worker or case manager complete the application process on their behalf. The links to the referral form can be found at the bottom of the page.
If you have any additional questions about the program, please complete the form below. Due to our lack of capacity, it may take up to a week to receive a response.
