Yaya Wang
Yaya Wang is a highly accomplished Human Resources executive with a proven record of strategic leadership and community involvement. She currently serves as Vice President of Human Resources for the Peter Ballantyne Group of Companies (PBGOC), where she partners with executive leadership to develop forward-thinking, sustainable strategies for growth and organizational excellence. In addition to her corporate role, Yaya leads her independent HR consulting practice, offering innovative, responsive solutions across various sectors, including non-profits, oil and gas, cannabis, municipalities, agriculture, mining, student unions, and hospitality.
Yaya’s previous leadership roles include Head of HR for CLAAS North America, Brand Director with Leo’s Hospitality Management Group, Marketing Manager at SaskTel, and Manager of Online Retail Operations with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Her diverse experience reflects her versatility, broad business acumen and ability to lead across industries.
An advocate for continuous learning, Yaya holds a Master of Administration Degree in Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Regina. She also holds a Master Certificate in Human Resources Management, a Diploma in Business Administration, and a Certificate in Public Relations. Professionally, she is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), a Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP), and is currently pursuing the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D).
Her contributions to the HR field have been recognized with the Rising Star Award from CPHR Saskatchewan, and she was named one of CBC’s Future 40 Under 40 for her leadership and dedication to shaping a brighter future for Saskatchewan.
Yaya is deeply committed to community service. She has served as Vice Chair of both the YWCA and the Regina Catholic School Community Council and is a past board member of the University of Regina Alumni Association. She has also held leadership roles with the Saskatchewan Professional Marketing Association as Co-Chair, Community Social Impact Regina as Chair of the HR Committee, and the Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (SYPE) board, including a term as President. Her longstanding commitment to volunteerism and governance reflects her passion for building stronger communities through collaboration and leadership.
