Treatment Foster Care program launches pilot to empower foster parents

Ranch Ehrlo’s Treatment Foster Care (TFC) program has designed a Community of Practice (COP) to empower foster parents and reduce caregiver isolation by creating a safe, supportive space where foster parents can ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Sometimes, that means rethinking routines, bridging programs, and going beyond what’s typical. A participant in the Supported Living Program inspired staff at Ranch Ehrlo to do just that, making his dream become a reality.

Seeing foster care through a birth parent's eyes

Recently, Treatment Foster Care families participated in a group training session that offered a powerful and unique perspective from a birth mother who experienced having her children in foster care and later achieved successful reunification. Martine Ahenakew has shared her story publicly before, but in this smaller setting, she connected with foster families on a deeper level – helping them better understand the thoughts and emotions birth parents experience when separated from their children.

Winter camp for Welke House

Corman Park’s Welke House loaded up their van again this year, with their navigation set for Echo Lake, located in the scenic Qu’Appelle Valley some 70 kilometres east of Regina. The campground is well maintained and remains a popular winter destination, serving as a seasonal hub for outdoor enthusiasts. With heated yurts to keep campers warm and a variety of nearby outdoor recreational activities available, it offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the winter months. This was the second year Welke House has embarked on a winter camp – and it certainly won’t be the last.

Seven: Living and Learning at Ranch Ehrlo Society debuts at Darke Hall

Music Therapy participants from Ranch Ehrlo Society’s Supported Living Program (SLP) and youth Group Living Treatment Services (GLTS) are proving that music has no barriers, and that it belongs to everyone. Participants have poured their hearts into an original production titled Seven: Living and Learning at Ranch Ehrlo Society. More than a musical, the performance is a celebration of courage, culture, and community.

Save the Date: 5th annual Make A Mark

Artists from Ranch Ehrlo Society are proud to present, in partnership with the Regina Public Library, the fifth annual Make a Mark art showcase. This year’s exhibit, Sacred Animals, features original works created by adult participants from our vocational programs and youth participants who have poured their creativity, culture, and personal stories into each piece.

Kohkum in the classroom

Ranch Ehrlo’s education programs are embracing the wisdom and experience of Indigenous elders to foster connection, cultural competency, and learning in classrooms. A new initiative, launched this past semester, has introduced Kohkum Sherry Cochrane into eight unique classrooms to enrich the educational experience for both students and teachers.

A seven-year-old boy is setting a powerful example of inclusion in sport, reminding us that every child deserves the opportunity to belong. When he first stepped onto the ice, few expected him to make it as far as he has. But through determination and an unwavering love for the game, Trevor has beaten the odds and continues to persevere, showing everyone what’s possible when a child is given the chance to believe in himself.
