Watch your favourite fictional characters come to life as they leap from storybook pages onto canvases coloured with love.
Ranch Ehrlo has once again partnered with the Regina Public Library to present the third annual Make a Mark, a showcase dedicated to sharing the artistic talents of program participants.
This year’s show titled “Look in a Book” will display the participants’ artistic interpretations of literature’s most legendary characters.
“The style of art in these pieces focuses heavily on pointillism and the use of bingo dabbers as a medium so participants at every skill level so that everyone can be involved. Even if they think they can't paint they can still literally make a mark,” explained Dustin Ritter, art facilitator at Ranch Ehrlo.
The participants featuring their artworks are a mix of youth from Ranch Ehrlo’s Schaller Education Centre and young adults with differing abilities from Ranch Ehrlo’s vocational programs.
The art show will run from April 11th until April 30th at the George Bothwell Library, in Regina’s Southland Mall.
Members of the community are invited to attend the grand unveiling on April 11th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., to enjoy a short presentation and refreshments. Attendees can also leave their own “mark” on a live wall mural at the event.
