Members of the community converged on Ranch Ehrlo’s Pilot Butte campus to take part in the 7th annual powwow, hosted on August 29th, on Treaty 4 Territory.
The powwow is an annual opportunity for the community, as well as our participants and staff, to engage with Indigenous culture while learning more about the work Ranch Ehrlo does.
The day began with a pipe ceremony, followed by a feast and the grand entry at 1 p.m. Attendees enjoyed a family-style carnival and canteen, an inflatable obstacle course, and the newly installed playground.
The cool weather didn’t stop people from enjoying the powwow, with more attendees than ever watching in awe as drummers filled the air with sounds and dancers shared their talents and showcased their regalia.
“I do want to send out a special thank you to all of our guests in attendance and I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly to make the powwow a success,” CEO Natalie Huber addressed the crowd Thursday.
Ranch Ehrlo’s powwow wouldn’t have been possible without our generous community sponsors. Thank you to the following:
