We’re thrilled to unveil our updated strategic plan, developed collaboratively with our staff and senior leadership, and feedback from our referring agencies and our board of directors over the past months.
What’s new?
Our four core themes—program excellence, quality workforce, effective governance, and strong stakeholder relationships—remain central. However, we’ve updated our vision, mission, values, and objectives to reflect our focus on innovation, growth, and building healthy relationships.
New vision: We envision a future where all individuals and families have opportunities to achieve their full potential.
New mission: To provide quality preventative and restorative services to, and advocacy for, individuals and families through highly engaged and professional employees.
Our values have evolved to prioritize diversity and inclusion, reinforcing our commitment to a culture where everyone feels empowered and heard. The plan responds to key trends affecting our programs, workforce, governance, and community relationships, including mental health challenges, complex referrals, housing shortages, and education funding. It addresses workforce issues like recruitment, retention, cultural adaptation, and safety, while focusing on Indigenous staff representation. Governance priorities include managing cybersecurity risks, emerging technologies, and economic shifts. The plan also strengthens community relationships, enhances understanding of our high-risk work, and builds partnerships with Indigenous communities, all while fostering innovation and an inclusive culture.
Key areas of focus include:
- Program excellence: Deliver innovative, evidence-based services embedded in Indigenous cultures and traditions while meeting diverse needs.
- Quality workforce: Support and attract a resilient, diverse, and continuously learning team with a focus on workplace health.
- Effective governance: Leverage data and technology to make informed decisions, maintain sustainability, and strengthen policies.
- Strong stakeholder relationships: Building reciprocal partnerships and raising awareness to advocate effectively for vulnerable groups.
