Bowled over!

The Special Olympics has played an important part in the development of many Ranch Ehrlo participants over the years. This year a number of participants are honing their skills in Special Olympics bowling.

*Jayden is trying bowling for the first time this year.

“I go bowling on Saturdays. I’m trying to get used to five-pin but I’m managing to do it,” he said.

Like all his teammates, his favourite part of the game is getting strikes.

There are two other Ranch participants on Jayden’s team, but Ranch participants are active on other teams throughout the league.

Bowling isn’t the only Special Olympics sport in which Jayden participates. He also plays soccer.

“I like soccer too because that’s where I can be goalie,” he smiled.

This year’s provincial bowling teams have already been selected, but Jayden hopes to compete at the provincial level in the future.
