Community brightens Christmas for children, families

We do our best to make the holiday season meaningful for the children, youth, and families we serve.

While we know that joy doesn’t come wrapped in a box and healing can’t be delivered in a gift bag, our community consistently finds ways to make magic and lasting memories for participants at Ranch Ehrlo.

Staff and caregivers pour their hearts into the season. House parents bake festive treats, stockings are hung for each youth, crafts and cookies and decorated for the season, and children have the chance to visit with Santa, if they wish. Despite these activities, we know that the true spirit of the holidays extends far beyond what we can do alone. Christmas is about connection – a sense of belonging, feeling seen, and knowing that you matter.

Once again, this year, community members and local businesses came together to remember, include, and celebrate the children and families at Ranch Ehrlo Society.

Whether it was a thoughtfully wrapped gift, a shared holiday meal, or a meaningful experience that will bring families together to strengthen their bond, these gestures help create lasting memories that youth can carry with them, cherish, and one day draw upon as they build traditions of their own.
