Ehrlo Housing barbecue brings community together
On Wednesday afternoon, the smell of grilled hotdogs and hamburgers wafted through Lakeshore Village as families gathered for the Ehrlo Housing tenant appreciation barbecue.
Lakeshore Village is the original complex purchased by Ehrlo Housing in 1997. The program now curently manages approximately 90 units within the city of Regina.
The apartment complex transformed into a warm and welcoming hub of community as parents and children, along with classrooms from the on-site daycare, joined Ehrlo Housing staff and a few special guests to dine, play, and connect in a celebration of togetherness.
The annual barbecue provided an opportunity for tenants to catch up with old friends and foster connections with new neighbours, making the community feel even more like home.
“We don’t often get an opportunity to thank our tenants in a public way, so we started this tenant appreciation event so we had an opportunity to do just that,” explained Shelley Sayer, Ehrlo Housing director.
Events like these are gentle reminders: no matter where you live or your circumstances, everyone deserves a safe, friendly, and connected community to call their own.
“Our tenants have always helped to shape the way we do business. We want to learn what is important to our tenants so we can work together to make housing at Ehrlo the best possible experience for everyone,” Shelley concluded.
Ehrlo Housing operates as part of Ranch Ehrlo Society’s community services and its mandate is to provide affordable housing to low-income families, individuals with enduring mental health conditions, and young people transitioning from care. Since its establishment in 1997, Ehrlo Housing has built a strong reputation in the industry for developing and delivering affordable housing.
