Unveiling Fieger House

A former board member has been recognized for his commitment and contributions to Ranch Ehrlo by having a home named in his honour.

On May 27th, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house officially marked the occasion, bringing together dignitaries, guests, friends, staff, and well-wishers to celebrate Greg Fieger's remarkable effect.

“It is with great pride that we announce the naming of this home after Greg Fieger, a longtime advocate, community leader, and supporter of Ranch Ehrlo who serves with humility and has made an impact on the lives of others that goes beyond his role as a board member/chair,” Natalie Huber, CEO, said Tuesday. “When speaking with Greg, it’s clear that his focus is always on the Ranch’s accomplishments rather than his own, which speaks volumes about the kind of person he is.”

“Greg’s dedication and leadership have left a lasting mark on the Ranch, and we’re honoured to name this home in his honour,” she continued.

Greg joined the Ranch Ehrlo board in September 2013 and served as board chair from 2019 to 2021. He served on every board committee and chaired the Human Resources and Compensation Committee during his tenure. Greg guided the agency through key milestones including the COA recertification and organizational leadership change. He navigated Ranch Ehrlo successfully through two years of pandemic challenges, developed and approved a new strategic plan, and led the expansion of the Family Addictions program to Moose Jaw.

While it’s customary to name houses after board chairs, Greg’s namesake celebrates the impact he’s made far beyond his time on the board. His unwavering commitment to the Ranch continues, with him always going above and beyond to support the agency’s work.

A familiar face and a household name at the Ranch, Greg can often be found connecting with staff and engaging with participants. Over the years he was a regular staple at agency special events, including the 3-mile race, Awards Night, and the Dr. Geoff Pawson Memorial Golf Classic. Greg remains actively and frequently involved in Ehrlo Sport Venture’s (ESV) Monday Night Football League, taking his passion to the field and guiding young players.

“There isn’t anybody more deserving of this recognition than Greg — he has shown what the power of sport is capable of accomplishing through his own life experiences,” shared Gloria Patrick, manager of Ehrlo Sport Venture.  “He’s an advisor, coach, and supporter whose leadership brings others to the field.”

Greg was deeply humbled by the honour and took the opportunity to express his appreciation and prideful connection to Ranch Ehrlo, thanking his family for their support – giving him the space, love, and encouragement to follow his passion.

Greg also took a moment to thank senate member Jim Kenyon who recruited Greg to the board. He shared it was first the agency’s vision that attracted him to get involved with Ranch Ehrlo and it became the impact of the agency’s work that bonded him to the organization.

The home that has been bestowed the Fieger name has been an important part of Ranch Ehrlo for many years. It was leased for a long period before the agency purchased the property in 2022, making it their own. Now, as Fieger House, it will continue to serve as a home for five adult participants who live as roommates and are supported by a team of eight caregivers, a house parent, clinical consultant, and manager. The home is a warm and supportive atmosphere that helps teach independence and build life skills.
