Ranch Ehrlo hosted its 58th Annual General Meeting celebrating a year of growth, continued strength, and accreditation – further enforcing our commitment to helping and meeting the needs of youth, families, and individuals across Saskatchewan and beyond.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) occurred on September 18, 2024. The AGM was hosted virtually to best accommodate its members from all corners of the province. This includes board members, senate, staff, and other stakeholders who took part in the meeting to acknowledge the position of the agency and learn more about the activities of the last fiscal year.

Dr. Louise Greenberg, board chair, began the meeting with the land acknowledgement of Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 territories, followed by the approval of the agenda and minutes from the 2023 Ranch Ehrlo AGM.

Louise, along with CEO Natalie Huber, moved on to deliver their reports and highlight notable activities and achievements from the past year.

Louise touched on the successful CARE certification from Cornell University, celebrating Ranch Ehrlo as the third CARE certified agency in Canada and the first in Saskatchewan. She also spoke to the agency’s Council on Accreditation (COA) re-accreditation that will remain valid through to November 2027.

The agency celebrated being named a Top Employer in Saskatchewan for the 13th consecutive year.

“We are very proud of this designation and continue to work hard to ensure we provide a workplace that encourages our employees to be engaged, forward-thinking, and committed to the work we do,” shared Louise.

Before acknowledging the board and changes to its composition, Louise spoke to the growth of programs – specifically the opening of two Emergency Receiving programs in the north, Samson House on the Corman Park campus and Fraser House in Prince Albert.

Natalie spoke to the success of Ranch Ehrlo’s sixth annual powwow in August 2023, bringing together drummers, dancers, community members, and dignitaries to celebrate the richness of Indigenous culture and ceremony.

Philanthropic supporters and community donors were also acknowledged for their support of several agency initiatives and community services.

“We are very appreciative of this support which enables us to enhance and strengthen our programs and presence in the community,” said Natalie.

Board appointments were confirmed, with both Louise and Natalie welcoming new members and bidding farewell to those departing.

New members Jon Stricker, Reagan Lowe, and Jim Fallows have joined the board of directors, while Dave Hedlund and Diana Leray will rotate off the board. A thank you was also extended to Jordan Baptiste who has stepped back due to time constraints.

“Finally, I would like to express my appreciation for having the privilege to serve as your board chair for the past three years,” Louise said in closing. “It has been a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. As I step into my role as past-chair, I hand over the chair’s responsibility to Blair Swystun who I know will do an outstanding job. Hirsch Greenberg will be taking on the role of vice-chair.”

Shelley Reddekopp, Ranch Ehrlo’s vice-president of support services, then took the floor to provide a high-level overview of 2023-24 financial statements. Overall, the 2023-24 financial results for the agency were positive with the year-end results providing a net surplus of just over $3.5 million. More details about Ranch Ehrlo’s financial position can be found in the Annual Report below.

The AGM closed with appreciation extended to all staff and volunteers, with special gratitude given to board members for their direction and support.
