Since its inception in 1966, Ranch Ehrlo has been governed by a volunteer board of directors. These volunteers, who are experts in the fields, contribute a significant amount of time to assist in the direction of programs and services for the agency.
Let’s take a closer look at the board for 2017-2018.
Laurel Garven (chair)
Laurel joined the board in 2012. She is the director of Strategy and Stakeholder Relations at Information Services Corporation (ISC). Laurel is active in the non-profit sector and is actively engaged in the local music community.
Greg Fieger (vice-chair/secretary)
Greg joined the board in 2013. He has been a professional management consultant since 1985. Over the years, Greg has been an active volunteer with Kidsport, Saskatchewan Roughrider, and CFL Alumni associations, among other great community causes.
Bev Betteridge (treasurer)
Bev was appointed to the board in 2015. She is a senior accounting professional whose career has included many diverse roles related to finance. She is now the president of Bev Betteridge, CPA Prof Corp.
Debbie McKague (past chair)
Debbie joined the board in September 2009. She retired in 2013 after a 36-year career with SaskPower/SaskEnergy/TransGas. Since her retirement, Debbie has been an active volunteer with Dress for Success.
Jamie Burrows
Jamie was appointed to the board of directors in February 2014. Jamie is a partner in Meyers Norris Penny’s (MNP) Assurance Services group in Regina.
Richard Hazel
Richard joined the board in September 2014. He is the former executive director of the Family and Youth Services Division, Ministry of Social Services. He also held the position of executive director of the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers until 2013.
Wanda Falkowsky
Wanda rejoined the board in 2014 as the senate representative to the board. Wanda is a former member of Ehrlo Community Services and the Ranch Ehrlo Society boards of directors. She is/has been involved with many community organizations.
Annette Revet
Annette joined the board in 2015. She is chief transformation officer at Conexus Credit Union where she has responsibility for strategy development and overall governance. Annette is an active community volunteer, serving on several boards.
Dr. Judy White
Judy joined the board in September 2015. She is dean of the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina. She migrated to Canada from Trinidad in 1987. Much of her research has focused on settlement experiences of immigrant and new Canadian women and families.
Marlys Tafelmeyer
Marlys joined the board in September 2015. She has over 25 years’ experience in human resources and organizational development.
Gwen Kennedy
Gwen joined the board in September 2016. She is a former city of Prince Albert police officer and has taught at the police college for 16 years.
Dr. Jaime Lavallee
Jaime joined the board in September 2016. She is a citizen of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and is the director of Indigenous Governance, Law and Policy with the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council. Jaime has worked internationally in the field of Indigenous cultural rights.
Carmen Lien
Carmen joined the board following the amalgamation of the Ranch Ehrlo Society, RES&E Holding Corporation, and the Ehrlo Child and Family Foundation (ECFF) on June 1, 2017. He is the owner of Link Developments, a real estate consultancy company.
Hiedi Pearson
Hiedi is new this year to the board. She is the manager of Human Resources and Corporate Communications and a member of the senior management team at Harvard Developments Inc.
Dr. Louise Greenberg
Louise is also new to the board and recently retired as the deputy minister of Advanced Education with the Government of Saskatchewan in her 32nd year working in the Saskatchewan Public Service.
