Ranch Ehrlo’s Therapeutic Arts program has a new home and a new mandate to provide community programming. Now called Paper Crane Community Arts Centre, many qualified instructors & artists now have a creative space to house arts & wellness programs for Ranch Ehrlo residents and the community.
The centre held an open house on October 25th, welcoming many individuals, businesses, and community groups from Regina and surrounding area. During the day healthy snacks were served and there was opportunity to meet artists and facilitators who will be working at the community arts centre. Arts and wellness activities were also demonstrated during the day and participants had the opportunity to take resources with them.
“It’s very exciting to see everyone at Paper Crane making art, enjoying food and just hanging out,” commented manager of Paper Crane Community Arts Centre Amanda Scandrett. “Now that people know what we have to offer to the community I’m expecting to see a lot of people who want to connect through art.”
The arts centre focuses on using the arts as a catalyst to well-being in our daily lives. It offers programs to individuals, youth, corporate training, and community groups. It integrates the arts into a variety of wellness approaches: activities include dance, drama, music, visual art, new media, literature, multidisciplinary arts, yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, and holistic wellness.
David Rivers, Ranch Ehrlo senior director of programs south added, “I think Paper Crane Community Arts Centre allows the Ranch to carry on its mission of providing great quality services that help people grow and develop.”
Over its 46-year history, the Ranch Ehrlo Society continues to developed unique and innovative programs to assist not only children, youth, families but also communities.
