Mark your calendars, because renowned author of The Glass Castle, Jeanette Walls, has just been confirmed as the guest of hounour at Ranch Ehrlo’s 50th anniversary celebration in September.
The event has been scheduled for Sept. 29th at the Queensbury Convention Centre in Regina.
As is chronicled in The Glass Castle, Walls had an incredibly rocky childhood, with an alcoholic father and a largely absentee mother. In spite of it, she grew up to graduate from Bernard College and built an impressive career for herself which has so far included penning three best sellers and a stint as a journalist in New York. Her book has been a New York Times best-seller for more than six years. In 2012, Lionsgate purchased the rights to The Glass Castle and will be releasing the movie starring Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games.
At Ranch Ehrlo Society, we see this type of resiliency daily in our clients – and this is why Jeanette is the perfect complement to an event that will celebrate 50 years of helping at-risk clients blossom into successful adults.
The agency has been fostering positive change since 1966, when founder Geoff Pawson took a single house, a skeletal staff, and an unwavering commitment to help children and began what would eventually become the Ranch Ehrlo we know today – a multi-service agency providing top-of-the-line specialized programs for youth, families, and communities across the country.
We welcome and encourage everyone to come out to celebrate this phenomenal growth and achievement as we commemorate this milestone.
Please save the date for this exciting and important occasion. Ticket price and more information about the event will be made public in the new year.
