Ranch Ehrlo Society’s mandate includes advocacy for youth, families, and communities. It strives to be a positive upstanding member of its community by getting involved and being of service to those in need.

To this end, Kruzeniski House youth and staff epitomize Ranch Ehrlo’s values. They have been very busy this fall. Immediately upon returning from their last summer camping trip, Kruzeniski House jumped right into its annual Back to School Program, which “adopts” community youth and provides them with school supplies and clothing.

This year The Public Service Alliance of Canada lent is support to the Back to School Program by donating nine boxes of school supplies and a cash donation of $1500. This generous assistance allowed Kruzeniski House to adopt and assist more families.

The youth of Kruzeniski House went door-to-door in the community handing out flyers and speaking with families about its “Back to School Program”. Their efforts resulted in 45 community youth being adopted this year. The youth range in age from five to 17 years old. Adoption entails supplying all adopted youth with their back to school supplies. Aside from supplying school supplies, the youth and staff were also able to take 20 community youth shopping for some back to school clothing. Each youth was given between 75 and 100 dollars to purchase new clothes and running shoes.

“The families were so grateful for the help that we were able to provide.  A number of families were not able to afford to purchase school supplies so they were extremely thankful for our Back to School Program,” explained youth care leader, Cam Huberdeau. “The families were told that Kruzeniski House would continue to assist them throughout the year with additional school supplies that the youth may need.”
