The naming of Lammer House was held on November 2, 2012 in Regina. Lammer House is the newest five bed residential care home in our programs for persons with developmental and intellectual differing disabilities.
The home is named after long term board and senate member, Harvey Lammer. Harvey first sat on the board of directors in 1973. Currently he is a member of the senate. Harvey was also a founding member of the board’s risk management committee and an originating member of the board of directors of RES and E holding Corporation. Through a lifetime of many accomplishments, Harvey has always held the well-being of at risk young people at the centre of his heart.
This marks a milestone in the history of Ranch Ehrlo, the home was neither built nor purchased by the Ranch but acquired through a partnership with RES and E Holding Corporation. This partnership has allowed the Ranch to eliminate its property management responsibilities and focus on our mission to assist vulnerable children, youth, families and communities through our unique programs and service.
“Since Ranch Ehrlo opened 46 years ago it’s been the practice to name our facilities after those who have played a significant role in the life of Ranch Ehrlo,” stated Marion MacIver, CEO and President of the Ranch Ehrlo Society. “I’m so honoured that Harvey allowed us to name this group home after the dedicated service and leadership he has provided to Ranch Ehrlo over the past 39 years.”
Ranch Ehrlo Society’s programs for persons with developmental and intellectual differing disabilities provide residential treatment, clinical, education, and vocational programs to people with multiple complex needs.
The focus in our program is to provide long-term residential treatment support and to develop individualized treatment plans based on principles of social integration and normalization, and in some cases provide residents with an opportunity to develop skills to live more independently in their community.
We specialize in dealing with clients who have severe behavioral challenges by using the Ranch philosophy of a warm, nurturing environment that promotes dignity and self-respect. Our staff is specialized and highly trained to meet the needs of our clients with developmental disabilities.
“Harvey is a great choice to name Lammer House after as he has been involved with child welfare his whole professional career as a social worker,” Dr. Karl Mack, senior director at Ranch Ehrlo. “He also has a long standing involvement with the Ranch Ehrlo Society and is highly committed to making lives better for troubled youth and adults with complex challenges.”
“I have been made to feel very special to have a group home named after me,” stated Harvey. “I will continue to promote for the many quality programs of Ranch Ehrlo and encourage the continuation of employing the best qualified, trained, and sensitive staff, given the different needs of the residents.”
McCarthy House is a co-ed program for five residents, which has been full since it opened.
