Another year has come and gone! As 2016 begins, we take a look back at Ranch Ehrlo’s highlight reel from 2015.
Ranch Ehrlo is again named one of Saskatchewan’s top employers
For the fourth year in a row, Ranch Ehrlo Society was named one of Saskatchewan’s top employers!
EELC and Avant-Garde donate to Z99’s NICU fundraiser
Ehrlo Early Learning Centres and Avant-Garde put on fundraisers to benefit Z99’s radiothon. This year, EELC’s centres raised over $2,000!.Avant-Garde raised over $4,000.
New reunification group
The Family Treatment Program provided caregivers the opportunity to learn new skills to reunite their families and keep them together. In April 2015, they ran a six-week reunification group.
Sad loss
Dr. Alex Guy, a senate member advocate and champion of Ranch Ehrlo passed away. He left a lasting impression at Ranch Ehrlo Society, witnessing and being a part of the agency’s rich history. Lorne Mitchell a dedicated Outdoor Hockey League (OHL) volunteer also passed away in 2015. Lorne volunteered at the OHL’s Imperial Rink for over 20 years and had a passion for giving back to his community.
Successful golf tournament
The 24th annual Geoff Pawson Memorial Golf Classic was held May 25th at Wascana Country Club. It raised $14,000 for Ehrlo Sport Venture to support their recreational.
Sport Venture Library’s new mural
On June 1st, Sport Venture Library received a new look. Neighbourhood children and other community members joined staff to create a mosaic mural that serves to help people better locate the library.
New CFO appointed
Lori Mann joined Ranch Ehrlo Society as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on July 13th.
New board members and chair
At the AGM, board members Mike Shaw, Quinton Hardage, Craig Chamberlin, and former chair Jim Kenyon, rotated off the board. The meeting also marked the end of Cyril Kesten’s two year term as board chair. New members elected to the board included, Bev Betteridge, Annette Revet, Marlys Tafelmeyer, and Dr. Judy White. Debbie McKague was elected the new board chair.
Executive relocation
In October 2015, the Ranch’s executive team relocated their offices to 1951 Francis Street. The move was made to improve operational effectiveness and enhance the integration of strategic and program planning.
Annual activity fair
The fourth annual Prince Albert Youth Activity Fair was a resounding success with great support, phenomenal sponsorship, and a ton of registrations.
50th anniversary plans begin
Renowned author Jeanette Walls was confirmed as guest speaker for Ranch Ehrlo’s 50th anniversary gala. The event has been scheduled for Sept. 29th at the Queensbury Convention Centre in Regina.
Intake process changes
The Ranch adopted a new process which sees one person responsible for being the single channel for intake into the agency. Dionne Baergen, residential director at Corman Park, was appointed to this new role in November.
Equine program expansion
The Buckland campus’ Equine Assisted Therapy program now offers sessions to the Prince Albert Treatment Centre’s “Mom and Me” group. The group is for mothers with addictions, and works to reunite the mothers with their children.
Ranch Ehrlo visits Labrador
In November. Dr. Karl Mack, senior director of residential treatment, visited Sheshatchiu, Labrador. During his time there, Karl shared knowledge and trained staff from three separate community programs.
Construction complete
After much anticipation, construction was completed on Ranch Ehrlo’s new emergency receiving services building at the beginning of December.
