It is time to meet Ranch Ehrlo's newest board member Laurel Garven. I asked Laurel some questions to get to know her:

1) You are the newest member of the board. How long have you been on the Ranch board?
I joined the Ranch Ehrlo Board in September 2012.  I have really enjoyed getting to know some of the great people who work at the Ranch and learning more about the excellent programs and services.

2) What made you want to volunteer for the agency?
I became familiar with the agency’s great work through friends and colleagues who have previously volunteered or worked at the Ranch.   Their passion really sparked my interest to become involved and contribute to the success of this incredible organization.

3) What do you do in your life outside volunteering for the Ranch?
I work at Information Services Corporation as the Director of Strategy and Stakeholder Relations.  Outside of volunteering for the Ranch, I am actively involved with other organizations in the community, including Luther College High School and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  I am also passionate about playing the piano and working on my golf game.

4) Were you familiar with the services of the Ranch before joining the board?
I was familiar with some services but am continuing to learn about the many different programs that are offered.  I am constantly impressed by the diversity of the services that support many different members of our community.

5) Do you have a favorite program or service that we offer and why?
I have really enjoyed meeting some of the great people who are part of the Ranch’s residential and education programs.  I’m looking forward to attending activities that are part of the Ranch’s Sport Venture Program because I think it provides so many great opportunities for kids in our community to get active.

6) What do you hope to get out of your term as a board member?
I hope to have the chance to meet more great people at the Ranch and to contribute to the continued success of this great organization which makes such a positive difference in our community!
