Following Ranch Ehrlo’s AGM this week, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank our past chair Greg Fieger and past vice-chair Marlys Tafelmeyer for their hard work, dedication, and leadership.
Both board members started in their executive role in 2019 but were on the Ranch board years before. Greg Fieger joined in September 2013 and Marlys, two years later.
A life-long learner Greg has been a professional management consultant since 1985. He works with boards and executives to strengthen the leadership capability of their organization to achieve its goals. Aside from his work at Ranch Ehrlo, Greg has been an active volunteer with Kidsport, Saskatchewan Roughriders and CFL Alumni associations, among other great community causes.
Marlys has over 25 years of experience in human resources and organizational development, including the areas of the financial services sector, corporate, entrepreneurship, public sector, and community service. She is currently working as an independent human resource consultant and has recently made a move to BC.
The pair has guided the agency through many challenges and successes including the COA recertification, organizational leadership changes, and a new agency strategic plan. They were also at the agency helm when the pandemic hit and helped guide us through unknown situations.
“Both Greg and Marlys have been great ambassadors and supporters of Ranch Ehrlo. Not only do they provide knowledge and leadership at our board and committee meetings, but you can find them at all our events. From the TRC flag-raising ceremony, open houses, running our annual 3-mile race, flipping burgers at a Sport Venture anniversary party, volunteering at Monday Night Football, and presenting awards to participants at our annual Awards Nights, you will always see them in attendance,” explained Carole Bryant, director of governance at Ranch Ehrlo.
In fact, Greg was the winner of the putting green challenge at the Dr. Geoff Pawson Memorial Golf Classic in 2015 and Marlys won the 3-mile guest female category in the 50th-anniversary event.
“I really want to thank both Greg and Marlys for everything they have done for the agency and for myself,” added Natalie Huber, Ranch Ehrlo CEO. “They were really important in helping me feel comfortable and providing me with the knowledge and resources to step in as CEO when I joined the agency.”
Both Greg and Marlys will remain as Ranch Ehrlo board members.
