If you’re looking for an opportunity to expand the volunteer section of your resume or you want to help children, youth, and families, you need look no further than Ranch Ehrlo Society.
“Ranch Ehrlo offers a lot of unique volunteer opportunities, from our community services to our residential programs,” said Kim Buchan, manager of volunteer services and resource development.
“We actually rely on volunteers to allow some of our programs to continue providing the top notch services that Ranch Ehrlo has become known for,” she added.
Recently, our occupational/speech language team have created programs that both increase client satisfaction and quality of life, and offer a fresh volunteer opportunity for good Samaritans interested in working within our programs for persons with developmental disabilities.
A female volunteer is needed for an adapted cooking class. Clients with visual and sensory needs use recipes created with visuals to make them accessible and adapted cooking utensils to ensure the safety of clients. The class will be offered once monthly, every fourth Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
For those who are more activity oriented, a new opportunity is being developed. Beginning in April, a physical activity group will be launching for our clients in our programs for persons with developmental disabilities. The program is still under development but it will run one to two evenings a month.
If you’d think you’d like to help out but aren’t sure about being directly involved with clients, we have an opportunity for you as well! We are also looking for a volunteer to help create visuals and treatment materials. This is an administrative volunteer opportunity and includes computer work, cutting, and laminating. All materials will be supplied and times and locations are flexible.
These, and all available opportunities are listed on the volunteer section of the public site.
