Did you know we’re on Instagram? That’s right – Ehrlo Sport Venture and Paper Crane Community Arts Centre both have active Instagram accounts!
If you’re unfamiliar with this social media network, it’s basically a platform that allows you to share photos (and more recently, videos!). Users put hashtags in their captions to group their pictures into certain categories, much like Twitter. When someone browsing an Instagram account clicks a hashtag, or searches specifically for one, all photos and videos tagged with that hashtag will come up.
Sport Venture’s Instagram account is, as you may expect, full of photos of its many participants in various forms of sport! (For example, you can follow the progress of the upcoming OHL season using the hashtag #outdoorhockeyleague.) But it also shows visual program updates – like the completion of the mural on the front of the Sport Venture Building. Some things just can’t be described in words.
And who knows that better than our own Paper Crane Community Arts Centre participants? Paper Crane uses their account to highlight the creativity of the youth who come to the centre. They show completed individuals projects, like calming jars and paintings, as well as group projects, like the mandala project worked on by over 50 students.
You can follow @paper_crane_arts to get a dash of creativity in your feed, or @sportventure for some athletic fun!
