I thought I would use our Ranch blog to take the opportunity to learn more about our volunteer board of directors. Who better to start with than the chair, Jim Kenyon. Jim sat down with me to answer a few questions.
How long have you been on the Ranch board?
A : I am in my 5th year on the Ranch Board.
What made you want to volunteer for the agency?
A: I learned a bit about the Ranch through people I worked with in the business community who were working with the Ranch on various projects.
What do you do in your life outside volunteering for the Ranch?
A: I am an engineer and Louise and I have three children, all in their twenties. I work a lot and try to play some squash and golf. We also spend time at Katepwa Lake.
What has been your most memorial moment at your time at the Ranch?
A: There are many memorable moments and I have really enjoyed the Awards nights, the Christmas parties and the 3 mile race.
Do you have a favorite program or service that we offer and why?
A: It is hard to pick out anyone program or service as the Ranch covers a wide array of these. I think the outdoor hockey league is a great program for the community as a whole. When I was younger I played a lot of hockey on the outdoor rinks and those times are still some of my best memories. I still get out on the rinks with my friends once in a while.
