The Government of Saskatchewan has made the decision to re-purpose childcare centres located in schools to provide childcare for staff of essential services, beginning Monday, March 23rd.

Our staff have stepped up in a big way - four of our five Early Learning Centres (W.F. Ready – 2710 Helmsing St., Gladys McDonald - 335 Garnet Street N, Imperial – 200 Broad Street, and Ruth Pawson – 40 Weekes Crescent) will be re-opening for this purpose.

An application and information about the process for those who are delivering services related to the pandemic response are available online

“We understand there may be concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19 with large groups of children in one area. Please be assured that the staff of our centres have been and will continue to be hypervigilant in regard to protecting themselves and others. All of our centres have increased sanitary and hygiene in place during this time,” explained Karin Duff, early learning director.

The other people utilizing the centres are essential workers, who are well education and hypervigilant about practicing all the health guidelines. We are also advising all youth and parents to stay home when they are sick.

Services are available to children aged 18 months to 12 years. As of Monday, the daycare centres will be running from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
