It's official! May has been proclaimed Early Childhood Education Month and Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 has been proclaimed as Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day by the Minister of Education, Honourable Dustin Duncan.

This year it is especially important to recognize the hard work and dedication of all our early childhood educations. They have been on the front lines with added precautions since the beginning of the pandemic, initially re-purposed to provide childcare for staff of essential services.

The Honourable Dustin Duncan sums it up best in his proclamation letter:

“Throughout the pandemic, Saskatchewan’s early childhood educators have continued to step-up to support families by ensuring children and staff are safe and well cared for. They have consistently adapted to the changing situation to meet the unique needs of our youngest learners. The government recognizes their dedication and commitment to promoting social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development which is making a real difference in the lives of Saskatchewan families.”
