Recently a smaller version of the course was offered to us office staff to get an idea of what our front line workers go through and learn all about TCI. Our…

Problem, problem, problems

Do you think we have gotten to use to comfort? Do we have it too easy? I complain when the toilet paper at work is single ply, when Regina rush hour takes me an extra 5 minutes to get from my downtown office to the Ranch at Pilot Butte, or if I have to walk across the hall because I have run out of Ranch Ehrlo envelopes. Here is a video that kind of puts all our ‘problems’ in…

What would you do?

Recent events in Regina’s Wascana Park get one thinking The recent drowning of an apparently homeless man in Regina’s Wascana Lake really got me thinking. The still unconfirmed story (aka rumour) goes like this: 2 friends (both middle-aged, aboriginal, and homeless) are in Wascana Park on a brutally hot day. At least one of the men decides to swim across the lake, but he…

Back to school

I miss a lot about being a kid. Waking up early for Saturday morning cartoons, having the energy to be able to play all day long and having all my meals and snacks prepared for me. But this time of year the thing I miss the most is going back to school. I haven’t been in a classroom in over 10 years but the call of back-to-school shopping still gets to me. I have the instinct to buy new…

Ranch Ehrlo Society…how green are we?

Ranch Ehrlo Society…how green are we?

So in my last blog “Easy Steps to Going Green…No Excuses!” I promised to turn the spotlight on Ranch Ehrlo Society. So before I admit to the Ranch’s dirty little secrets, I will admit to mine. So here goes….I’m perfect! There, I said it; it feels great to get that off my chest. On a serious note, I am conscience about the environment and do what I can but I could always do more and…

Ranch Ehrlo is creating positive memories all of the time

Ranch Ehrlo is creating positive memories all of the time

I have been employed at Ranch Ehrlo since 1994, and if I could list all the positive memories I have of this place, the list would be a mile long! Ranch Ehrlo is continuously creating memories with its staff and the youth. Smiles all around I just attended a camp debriefing with one of the units, and when the manager asked the kids to talk about some of the memories from the most…
